Anna was a client in the Business Scale Accelerator 1-1 Mentorship Program in 2022. During her time working with Christine she learned not to jump directly to messaging when you do not first have a deep understanding of who you want to serve. Anna went from being a Self Love Coach to becoming a coach for couples looking to improve their intimate relationships.
The first time Christine and I met was April 1, 2022. We were matched by the artificial intelligence of an online networking space called Lunchclub. We met at a time when I was in a massive transition. I had recently made the decision to leave my full-time job and focus full-time on my business. I took the leap to bet on myself and while I was very committed to this change, I had no idea what I was doing – I was heading into uncharted territory and I knew I would need help. Christine opened my eyes up to what was possible, and while we wouldn’t start formally working together for another five months in the Business Scale Accelerator 1-1 Mentorship Program, her words resonated with me.
I want to highlight the three reasons I find our coaching and mentorship relationship to be incredibly valuable.
First, accountability – we started out by meeting weekly and those frequent conversations on Zoom and in between by email and What’s App really helped me keep on track and accelerate the growth of my business. She helped me to look beyond the short-term and start planning for longer term impact. I recall a key conversation about how I planned out my contracts with clients and focused on longer term renewals rather than renegotiating month-to-month.
The second reason is an opportunity to learn. Learner is one of my top Clifton Strengths and by working with Christine I have the opportunity to explore areas she is using to grow her business and consider applying them to my own. Specifically, I am planning to add speaking and podcasting to my business strategy in the future. Christine is a great strategic thinking partner and helps me to vet new opportunities – including leveraging her knowledge and experience to prioritize what we should go after now and what might be something to shelf for later.
The third reason is she is helping me to grow and expand my network. Christine is a connector and has introduced me to clients, collaborators and co-conspirators who are not only great people, they will make for long-term relationships that are necessary to strong business growth.
With Christine’s guidance, words of encouragement, and strategic vision, my business continues to grow and accelerate at an unstoppable pace. Five months into our third year, we brought in more gross revenue than the entire previous year, and in just six months we’d claimed more revenue than the previous two years.
I recently renewed my contract with Christine for a second year. Honestly, I can’t imagine a time where I wouldn’t have her guidance, input, and assistance with my business. She’s a true gem.
My business journey is a little unusual because I never imagined becoming a full time business owner. I had a successful career as a nurse and on the side my husband and I were starting to build a real estate portfolio while raising our 3 children. However when my father passed away, we inherited his very successful business selling rare vintage manuscripts, journals and documents.
When I first met Christine, I was overwhelmed by all the sales and marketing aspects of growing a business and I felt that I was working very hard but with no direction. The business was making money but I felt like if I had some focus it could make more.
I thought the answer was hiring a social media person and after chatting with Christine, whom I met through a local women's networking group, I realized that I first needed to get clear of the direction I wanted to take the business and define what I wanted the journey to look and feel like as the business owner.
She asked questions that I didn't have clear answers for and that is when I realized I needed her help and I joined the Business Scale Accelerator Mentorship 6-Month Program.
Since joining the program, the business has had very strong sales. In truth, it’s the first year I’ve really paid attention and I can see that the sales are stronger than past years.
As a business owner I feel more capable of reaching out and responding to potential customers.
Christine has helped me to focus my time and efforts so I’m getting more done and feeling less guilty when I have a diversion that keeps me from working.
As a Mom of 3 while running multiple Airbnb and long term rental properties, it is sometimes hard to get everything done I want.
Having weekly calls helps me to set priorities and focus on the big tasks that lead to customer and revenue growth.
Christine helped me to set up a simple tracking system for inquiries and past clients that enables me know what to focus on. As a result I am more confident as a business owner and I've managed to shorten the time between inquiry, selling an item and getting paid which helps with cash flow.
One of the biggest takeaways in my time working with Christine is that things aren’t as hard as they seem in my head. Having working sessions where we actually complete tasks has been a huge reduction to my overall stress levels, helped me to feel less overwhelmed while building my skills and confidence level.
I'm making so much progress in building capabilities and confidence with sales and marketing because of the 1-1 mentorship program with Christine that I've chosen to extend our partnership a further 16 months.
I’d recommend her to anyone who is new to entrepreneurship and needs help figuring out what their business is and who they are as a business person.
